LSU.

Strengths:

Our WR's on offense should be our strong point; Boutte, Nabers, Bech, Jenkins, Thomas Jr all returns and have valuable experience.

Our DL on defense should be our strength. Jacquelin Roy, Bj Ojulari, Ali Gaye, Maason Smith, Guillory, and newcomer All SEC Freshman from Mizzou Mekhi Wingo should be strong for us.

Weaknesses: Offensively, Our RB's John Emery and Noah Cain transfer from Penn State, not much depth there so injuries could hurt us.

Defensive weakness is DB's, We are thin at corner and are relying on experienced transfers to help us. Nervous how this group will gel since we are relying on 5 newcomers.

QB, OL, LBs are all positions that I think we will be decent/good at but nothing that scares me nor sticks out to be real excited about. I think LSU is destined for an 8-4 type of season if I was a betting man

With the season 2/3 weeks away, i'm generally curious what the rest of SEC is feeling with their squad

Emery, Cain, Goodwin, J. Williams - that's 4 talented, experienced backs who can do the job. BK even mentioned he likes our depth at RB

I wouldn't call Williams talented nor is Goodwin experienced. (He is talented though)

Strengths -

Offensively: QB, RB depth, WR depth.

Defensively: Pass rush, experience in the secondary, front 7 depth.

Weaknesses: OL question mark, corner back depth, coaching consistency.

Strengths: Almost everything
Weaknesses: Pete Golding does not generally begin coaching defense until week 4 or 5

ETA: Oh yeah, and Bill O'Brien literally does not know what a screen pass is, unless someone taught him this offseason

Strengths:
DL - Not a lot of starts between them, but an insane amount of talent and depth. We could run a 3 deep, 4 down rotation of all high 4 and 5 stars.
RB - Devon Achane had 900+ yards and averaged 7 yards per carry as RB2 last year. Amari Daniel’s and LJ Johnson should have some breakthrough games as supplemental backs.
DB - Antonio Johnson and Demani Richardson will be really good this year. A lot of experience there. Hopefully Jaylon Jones moves to Nickel and we start Tyreek Chappel and Denver Harris at corner. That would be my ideal secondary this year.

Weaknesses:
The QB/WR connection. Not saying there isn’t talent at both positions, but there just hasn’t been chemistry there. Until proven otherwise, this is a weakness.
-Linebacker depth. Edgerrin Cooper is a really good linebacker but if he or Andre White get hurt, things could go south for that position group. Not a lot of experience there after those 2.

Just curious, losing Williams and Metchie make y'all nervous at all? I know Burton transferred and Ja'Corey Brooks is extremely talented so I doubt it's much concern

Offense:
Strengths: QB and RB. Bryce, Jahmyr, and Trey should provide a solid core.
Weaknesses: OL, can we find a solid starting five? Latham needs to start living up to his talent/hype and can Brockermeyer get over his injury and make a push? WR, who will step up? Burton should be a solid one and Brooks showed late last season he is ready. Can Harrell be the speed guy to open up defenses? Will the young guys (Earle, Leary, Anderson, etc) be ready for prime time? They showed flashes but need more consistency.

Defense:
Strengths: OLB and DB. Everyone knows about our OLB's (Anderson, Turner, and soon, Braswell). If Ricks gets up to speed having him and Kool-aid at the two starting spots with Jackson as a 3rd will be lethal. At safety Battle and Hellams gives us a solid starting two with Branch and Moore coming in at nickel/dime could make this one of Sabans' best secondaries.

Weaknesses: DL and ILB, plenty of talent but no dogs (so far) that have taken charge and lived up to the talent. DJ Dale is good but takes plays off. Tim Smith showed flashes last year and we need him to become the man in the middle. Byron Young should be a strength but can he become a every-down force? Plenty of DL talent but little experience.

At ILB To'oto'o returns and will call the defense but who will start next to him. Moody seems to be the next guy up but is he SEC caliber? Deonte Lawson and Kendrick Blackshire should push Moody for the 2nd ILB spot.

Of course losing players like that is going to hurt, but I don't think it will be crippling like it was at the end of last year because I expect our running game to take a huge step forward. A strong rushing attack will help open up the passing game.

Better coaching is about all fla has going for it.

Mullen and them did nothing good last year. Even Anthony Richardson only got one start when he was thrown to the wolves vs Georgia.

From what I’m hearing it’s just an ankle sprain. Hopefully not the same foot he injured previously. If it is he would be done with football.
