Im pretty sure elite football and basketball players have been paid long before Shaq. I just wish he’d played at Alabama but he did play for my favorite nba team , the Lakers

I once saw a segment on ESPN about Shaq, traveling to Mobile to spend the whole day with a young boy who was a huge fan, but was a terminally ill cancer patient. Talk about a lump in the throat, been a huge fan ever since.

Only a handful of athletes have done as good a job of marketing their personality as Shaq. Of course...most athletes don't have anywhere close to as much personality to try to market in the first place.
