You can almost insert those statements for every team in the SEC. It's easy to be optimistic in fall camp. You may even feel more optimistic after you destroy La Lafayette and So Miss.
Every year you hear observers and teammates talk about how great the offense will be. "I watch these guys in practice and we are going to surprise some people. I know. I've seen the athletes that we have. yada yada yada..."

While that was true and was frustrating it has been over with for a while now.
I am not guaranteeing a win but simply stating MSU is a bad matchup for the Hogs in 2019 due to style of play and line play.
MSU's kryptonite is and has been teams that can make us throw the ball with their base defense and Arky is not well set up to force that issue this season IMHO.

WORLD BEATERS? No. But we had MAD CRAZY locker room cancer last year. We have jettisoned a ton of dudes. We will be MUCH improved. I dont see any way we win more than 7 though, maybe 8 if we pull off the game vs State, Aggie, or Mizzou.
We have 4 gimmes plus Ole Piss. That's 5 already.

Yeah I saw that roster in Starkville last year. They sucked all around and unless you brought in a class full of ready to start 5*s, I don’t see a huge turnaround.

2nd year leap. You should see marked improvement. If Miss State looks to have fallen back it may show he just isnt the right coach.

With no passing game, you are stuck at 7-8 wins. 4 OCC, UK, UT, ARK, Ole Miss.
Passing is a must and I know you had some drops in scrimmage yesterday. The question is how many, and what was the competitions like.
You defense will still be top 15ish.
The goal of that staff should be expanding the field vertically. Meaning passing.

Well we played last year with 7 OLineman total. SEVEN. We now have 15, so there's that.
We are WAY more talented at WR and most Hog fans say this is (in due time) the best WR corps we've EVER had.
We now have SMU's all time leading passer Ben Hicks plus Nick Starkel at QB, and a young 4* Freshman they call Cam 2.0 if needed.
Our defense is much improved along the D-Line and in the secondary. We have a freshman FS starting at Nickle back who Chief says is the best guy he's had since Honey Badger back there.
MOST importantly, we had Bert-Lovers sabotaging us from within all season. Those guys are all gone. The team has an amazing chemistry and brotherhood that we havent seen up here since McFadden and them.
On top of that our schedule is way easier. No way we dont win 6, which would be a 300% leap. We gonna maul Ole Miss game #2, then you'll see.
