And that's the problem with this whole conversation. Which teams are gonna play each other? The LSU team at the end of the year when all players were healthy and served suspensions or the other one? Which Bama team? With or without Waddle?

So we just might hold y’all under 50 in this hypothetical

Yeah I hate the “y’all gave up 38 to Vandy” and “y’all gave up 48 to Ole Miss” talk
Both teams at their peak would damn near be a 5-5 split out of 10 imo

I personally use the team Alabama played, because that's the team we played. And then I think of the team when Alabama played LSU this year(without Waddle) because that's the team that played against LSU this year.
I can agree that it would be a closer game playing against the end of the year LSU, but that's just not the team Alabama would play, and end of the year Alabama is not who LSU would play either.

Well that’s certainly one way to look at it

I can’t disagree with this, but I don’t ducking understand it.

I hear so many people saying this year didn’t count. Yes it counted. That bull shite.
But to be delusional and say it was equivalent to every other year is also bull shite. This year was a fricking mess. Yes I give Bama credit for not letting the mess affect them, but trying to compare this team to past championship teams is impossible to do. It just can’t be done with any legitimacy.

Do we get Waddle and Dickerson back at 100% with the offense focused in like they were Monday night?

Alabama played a tougher schedule than normal. 0 G5 or FCS teams.
And with the covid, it was another obstacle it had to get around while doing the tougher schedule because it could have affected them as well. Nick Saban did miss coaching a game, and missed another week of practice prior to that because of false positives.
For some reason we're supposed to pretend that it was only Alabama's opponents that had to deal with things, rather than recognize a team that had to go beyond normal circumstances to achieve what they did.

I get all of that. And like I said. I give Bama a lot of credit for not letting distractions affect them. It’s just impossible to compare this team to past champions.
Bama handled the distractions well. Most everyone else didn’t. It’s impossible to determine just how good the level of competition was. Bama was by far the best team THIS year. Maybe they could have beaten last year’s LSU team, but there are too many factors that make it impossible to determine for sure. Certainly can’t use the numbers to determine it.

I don't think we are denying how great LSU's team was in 2019, it's how they took the "Best Team Ever" title and ran with it and shoved it in everyone's face. I think it is 2018 UCF "National Champion" level sad how LSU fans get if you talk about anyone else other than their one hit wonder season.

You think playing against P5 teams that were not full strength is better than LSU playing 7 Top 10 teams with all but 2 on the road or neutral site? You don’t think that home field advantage plays a part in college football? GTFO. That is what makes college football better than NFL. The home field can absolutely help create upsets. The only reason that Bama would be rated high is bc their stats were ridiculous. Also those stats are inflated. How many teams were full strength that Bama played against? Did Bama play UGA with their best QB? No. JT Daniels was not playing. He is better than the hat guy that playing QB. Sorry but Bama does not beat 2019 LSU.
