That ESPN article was a decent read. Everybody screws up, and he seems to acknowledge that, but I’m also not convinced he’d get it done for UT.

Cant recall seeing a recent thread asking, and maybe the Chat win gets Proot some time.

If you could take him right now, would Vol fans hire Kiffin?

Yeah, yeah, I know. Phil would veto, so its moot anyway.

I think a 10 year $75m contract is in order, might be able to get to 9 wins at that price

Phil is not going to hire a coach that will be bigger then him. Tennessee is done until Phil is gone.

Phil could run the campus shirtless with him

I would've taken Kiffin 4 years ago, so yes, I would welcome Lane home with open arms.

That photo is clearly photoshopped and not representative of VOLS

Vols have battered wife syndrome when it comes to Kiffin.

The only thing giving him more time is the fact that Butch and Dooley are still being paid

Yes, but Kiffin, along with any other decent HC, wouldn’t touch Tenner. That program’s a train wreck for at least another decade.

Can you imagine running out to the rock to paint your masterpiece only to find out someone else has already drawn a giant cock on it? Even more masterfully drawn than your own plans.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Team meetings at the Birmingham Marriott were winding down the night before Tennessee was set to take on top-ranked and unbeaten Alabama in 2009, and Ed Orgeron wanted everyone's attention. To get the Vols pumped up, the fiery defensive line coach took an overhead projector and hurled it into a wall, where it shattered into pieces. Then it was Lane Kiffin's turn. The brash young head coach had an announcement.

quote:

"He gets up there and says, 'I've already called back to the University of Tennessee and told them that we're going to stay an extra night after we beat Alabama tomorrow, and we're going to go eat some of those Dreamland ribs and hang out at their bars,'" recounted Marlon Walls, then a freshman defensive lineman.

Hell no

If VOLS have any sense, we let Jimmy Poot coach out and at least gain some experience.

Effing sick of throwing away money on buyouts

You're giving us too much credit, Knobb. Most of us believe VOLS pigskin is a rotting shell of its former self

Oh, God, yes. He is the perfect coach for the VOLS. He needs to lose a little weight, though. I'm not taking him back if he is fat.

The right coach could have Tennessee a NC contender in two years.

That being said, it ain't like Gen Neyland is walking through that door anytime soon.
