Would Kentucky football do better in the Big 10?

The Cats could renew the Indiana rivalry and start a new one with the Buckeyes. An easy win every year with Illinois and most years with Purdue. With Stoops’ recruiting, we would seem to match up well in the trenches with about everyone and would have an athleticism advantage over most teams that we don’t have in the SEC.

Probably wouldn't be good for recruiting. Didn't a top KY prospect commit to OSU a few weeks ago?

If you went to the B10 an SEC school would poetically steal Stoops from you and your football program would return to the pooper.
Come on now man, “A rivalry with the Buckeyes.” Did you type that with a straight face?

the difference would be negligible.

And B1G bball may be overrated, but UK would be middle of the pack fairly often. They can still win the SEC in a "down" year

You’d never beat Ohio State. Would lose most of the time to Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn State and Michigan State. Would be similar to Iowa or Purdue. 6-8 win teams occasionally good (10 wins) and bad (4 wins) years
So Pretty much the same

You already play in the East, how much easier do you need it?

When have they done that since Missouri join the league? It was Missouri that won two SEC east division. Kentucky won none!

If Kentucky moved to the Big 10 and somehow made it into the western division, they'd probably be able to sneak past Wisconsin/Iowa and win the division every once in a while. The big 10 West is a weak division just like the SEC East. However, if Kentucky were put in the Big 10 East they'd be on the lower rung of the division facing Ohio state, Michigan, Penn state, Michigan State, and Indiana every year. It wouldnt be much different than what you already get playing in the SEC East. If you have a terrific season and sneak past Georgia and Florida it's possible to win the division but not likely.

They aren’t even remotely comparable

Why do some of our goddamn fans do this. Or theyll ask the same about the ACC in basketball. STFU with this nonsense. Jesus H...why would you want to join the B1G.

Same reason fans always say Arkansas should move to the Big 12. It makes sense geographically, and it would be nice to renew some old SWC rivalries, but SEC money is too good.

It’s silly to even speculate. While having more of a focus on basketball than its SEC brethren, UK is a charter member and part of the old guard of the conference. If you had to have an answer though, in a year like 2018 (the Benny Snell, Josh Allen team that beat Penn State in the Citrus Bowl) Kentucky would have a great chance to win the Big Ten West. That team had a home game against Georgia to go to Atlanta, but Georgia was elite. We’ll see where Stoops takes them from here. The 2020 team should be more talented across the board than the 2018 team.

STFU Titties.
And I look forward to putting another win vs Mizzou this season.

The best part of joining the B1G would be the opportunity to assert dominance twice a year over that dumpster fire basketball program (Indiana) and listen to all of the Hoosier wailing.

Kentucky beat Penn State in the bowl game just a couple of years ago. Plus, Michigan and Michigan State have been down for several years now. Stoops got two of the top Michigan recruits last year as well.

Would actually probably be very good for them in recruiting. They could go get the kids from Ohio that Ohio State doesn't want. There's a lot of HS talent in that state.

Strictly speaking from a financial standpoint a move to the Big 10 would be silly.
I'm not sure how beating Indiana, Purdue, Rutgers of the world is worth the financial loss.

The entire reason we've been recruiting so great is because we're selling the SEC to kids in Ohio and Michigan. Moving to the Big 10 would take away our biggest recruiting advantage and only a moron would think that would be a good idea.
