They lose the iron bowl.
They make a NY6 bowl and have many NFL eligible players sit the game.
They lose their NY6 bowl.
Sucking the wind right out of them.
Could be a catastrophe.

Worst case for Bama is and has been Saban retiring.

Sounds like the 2013 season. Wonder who the SEC champs and #1 playoff seed were in 2014? And who won the SEC and CFP the following year in 2015?

Wish case scenario for LSU, burrow leaves along with half of your team (most of your difference makers) and Brady gets an OC job, and you have Brennan starting at QB with no one around him. That scenario is now likely than the one you put forward

Nah. Bama will very likely miss the playoff and this season will be already a step below the previous five, but that won't change much by a winning a game or two. They still look good moving forward with the way they are recruiting.
If they start losing commits significantly; or if Saban was to retire, they yes that would not be good for them.

It's kind of sad.

OP scenario is far more likely
Brady has agreed to a new deal, we undoubtedly have him for 2020
Losing half our difference makers is simply not true. Please name these half. I’ll counter
On the other hand, Bama has lost its star QB, will be in a dog fight vs AU and will likely face a pretty good team in an NY6 bowl, again, without your star QB and a lot of freshman on defense

Not possible. Even if, HALF the team leaves; we will reload. We are a young team with a loaded class coming in.

and Brady gets an OC job,
Would you take an OC gig with more responsibilities making less money than a passing game coordinator?

and you have Brennan starting
Brennan is going to surprise a lot of people. Bigger arm than Joey Burrow. Can he lead the team as good if not better? Remains to be seen.

Check your facts.

I mean. Not really.

That has happened before. It was followed up by 2 NC's in the following 4 years.

How shall we ever recover

If Mario makes the playoffs or wins a Natty... you better believe we'll pick up the phone when/if Saban retires.

Cristobal (Oregon's coach, used to be a position coach at bama from 2013-2016 I think)
