It seems that they’ve been trying to run Harsin off since the day he stepped foot on campus. Looks like it would be difficult to recruit under those circumstances no matter what kind of coach he is.

I know Gene (really Gus/Cam) won a NC but doesn’t he have to be up there? Everyone knows he had nothing to do with that NC. He went 3-9 (0-8) when Gus left.
Would that not be the worst season of all time?
Plus it’s hard for Harsin to recruit when the boosters refuse to pay cause they don’t like him

Typical clueless Bama fan. Barfiield was handed a broken program when Bama was controlling the NCAA and their recruiting. The program was behind in finances and evtthey did was watched by Bama to turn in. Remember they got on probation for a minor recruiting violation that Bama turn in.

Coach Barfield was head coach at UMS where I went to school. I was a kid at the time and we were really good. I was happy when he went to AU and hoped he would do well. When he lost to UT Chattanooga I knew it was likely over. He was a good man, I just thought he was over his head at Auburn.

Very good Offensive mind and just look at his RBs during that time. His problem was his DC Underwood. Davis was AU DC, but he left when he wasn't selected as HC. Barfield was just handed a bad situation and he tried to follow the rules. Big mistake,
