Why did they drop that name? Always liked it. Also Florida allows alcohol at home games and Georgia does not. Will they allow alcohol sales when Florida is designated as the home team?

It's still called that

We do in certain sections

Starting this year alcohol is sold for the game in club level. Home team has nothing to do with it

The name was not politically correct.

All real football fans still call it that.

I understand but on the SEC channel someone mentions it by the name and people look at the person like they said frick on TV.
And selling alcohol in the club sections is not the same as selling it in the stadium.
Auburn, Alabama, Georgia and Miss St don't sell beer at their stadium.

And talking to Auburn fans last week they seemed to think the rule would change there next year

Thanks for the answer Matt. I thought that was it. More political correctness

The word "cocktail" is a construct of toxic masculinity. It must be removed.

PC police.

Bc a name with any reference to alcohol sets a “bad” example & may encourage young, impressionable college students to drink alcohol. Lol.

Maybe if it were called the World’s Largest Outdoor Beer Party, I’d see a point.

frick those POS hypocrites.

When A&M was brought into the conference the words "cock" and "tail" were deemed more connected to its history and heritage than Georgia and Florida's, so the SEC relented and allowed A&M sole ownership and usage of those words, whether combined or separate.

Good thing they have a party because the football is never really good (mediocre at best) with two top 10 facing off vs each other.

That Tennessee team that lost 34-3 in the Swamp earlier this season looked like the most unispired, shitty football team, I've ever seen.

It might be safe to say that in 20 or 30 years, a new generation of fans will be reading books about how Tennessee used to have a really good football team. Like how today’s fans look back and read about Princeton and Yale and Harvard and the University of Chicago that used to dominate the gridiron. And Minnesota. Well there is hope for Tennessee. At least Minnesota has a rebirth of their football team. May I suggest for Tennessee or Arkansas to empty the vault for PJ Fleck?

The two school presidents decided that they didn't like the name, inference or depiction.

There's no more liquor consumed there than at any tailgating venue in the SEC.

How many have RVs start rolling in on Tuesday though and get classes canceled so students can go?

On the actual Saturday gameday you're right, it's no different. But you'd be hard pressed to match the full on week long spectacle that is the cocktail party. YouTube frat beach for an example, you don't get that anywhere else.

Damn, there's a lot of sodas on those tables. Where's the alcohol?

You ppl need to come to Louisiana to learn how to make a proper cocktail.
