We were happy to have Woodward move from Washington to A&M but how much intelligence does it take to take a big pile of money and offer it to the best coach available?

I mean if you could sober up Vince Young, he could do the job.

Biggest problem LSU would have would be locating that big pile of money.

$212M

This number is purposely misleading. Its higher than ours but not that high. A&m also doesn't reinvest all their revenue.

Odd, given that yall constantly talk about what an idiot he was for giving Jimbo such a ridiculous contract, and how smart Alleva was to refuse to offer that kind of deal.

The reality is that F. King keeps Alleva's balls in a jar and told Alleva that Louisiana politics would not allow LSU to go out and give Jimbo all that money because it would be terrible optics while F. King was begging the legislature for more money for the academic side of things.

Rumor has it that F. King ordered Alleva to suspend Will Wade.

I personally think Alleva should've told him "let me do my job, pencilneck" and threatened to resign if he wasn't allowed to go hire the coach he wanted to hire (Jimbo).

But I don't know that any AD would have done that. Would Woodward? Impossible to know.

Doesn't much matter now. Aggy got their man. We shall see if does what he was hired to do (win championships). I'm certainly not holding my breath on Coach O winning a championship at any level as long as Saban is still in Tuscaloosa.

But it’s accurate to say their revenue for athletics is larger than LSU’s.

Oh wow.

LSU is in the top 10 in revenue in America, sandwiched between fellow poors Florida and Auburn.

Man, they sho is poor.

LSU is a far more national brand than aTm.

Woody’s resume screams President, and then he will hire an AD Of his choosing.

Forever, LSU.

Completely false. When it comes to the topic of football coaches salaries, LSU can compete with anyone.

So why did they replace Les with a d-line coach if they have all this money to get the best there is? Your statement does not make any sense.

Also, Wade may be a great coach, but he is certainly not the best coach in the NCAA.

Yeah the Dline coach that had a pretty damn good year. Theres no such thing as a homerun hire anymore. Herman was always Texas and Jimbo wanted an astronomical contract that he did not deserve. If Jimbo doesnt win and with that contract that could set LSU back 10 years. After those two who do you consider the best there is? Imo Orgeron is just as much as a risk as anyone else and he proved that he can relinquish control to assistants and has recruited really well.

Theres no risk for A&m because if he doesnt win then that's not completely unusual for them they just start over.

I hope Lsu goes all out for Woodward. It’ll be funny to see them lose again.
