It can do the opposite though as well with only 4 teams, chosen by 15 people(with inherent biases). I thought TCU was a better pick in 09 than UTx, but no way in hell would they be picked over UTx.
Just think in basketball. If LSU or Bama has the same resume as UNC, who do you think gets the higher seed. But with 68 teams, it can work itself out in the end. That's why I have said do a 12 team playoff. If you give the top 4 confernce champs a bye, it still keeps meaning to the regular season.

And it should be 8 teams! SEC, ACC, Big 10, PAC 12, and Big XII with autobids, and 3 open slots 1st round should be at home stadiums, SEMIS at bowl sites, and Championship at the rotating location

This but using the BCS for the poll.

It cant go to 8 teams... This past season half of those 8 would've been SEC teams... Bama, Florida, Georgia and aTm.. With USCe and LSU right there on the bubble... They have to keep it at 4 imho.

it wont fall apart.

it will simply grow to the 8-12 teams that it should have been at to begin with.

at 12 you can have all conference winners that reach a top 15 ranking plus a few at large schools.

top 4 get an opening round bye.

They should just use computer rankings and the top 4 get in. Leave biased people out of it
