Won't be popular but let's open the discussion

Saban is a legend and unltimately wins matter not recruiting championships. That said, Athens is a better college town, Atlanta is close, and I wonder if players would just prefer to play for a younger more relatable coach at this point...if championships are a real potential. No disrespect to saban or Bama.

Alabama's 2017 class is arguably the greatest class of all-time at this point given their freshman year on-field play and their recruiting points. They obviously must continue that and grow and have great overall careers, but at this point it's completely reasonable to make that argument. Kirby was not a coach at Alabama in 2017.

Kirby is a great recruiter. Today was a great day for Georgia. You guys are seriously getting out over your skis constantly trying to find ways to prove to yourself that things in Tuscaloosa are over and somehow the Saban era is dead.

Do we need to drag out the gifs of all our true freshmen (the ones from that GOAT 2017 recruiting class) beating you in the national title game again or can we end this by agreeing both teams are stacked and it should be a fun next few years?

Yes. If I were an offensive standout, I would choose the school to go to based on the DC and not the HC.

Find me a class that contributed more as freshman on as big a stage and had the signing day credentials that the 2017 Alabama class had.

I'll wait. And yea, I'm including some of those GOAT Miami classes, GOAT USC classes AND our 2008 class. None of them did what that group of freshman for Alabama did last year as true freshmen. None of them.

I don't think things in Tusaloosa are over or that Saban is done.

Kirby’s a good recruiter but let’s not kid ourselves, Saban is the greatest recruiter of all time. Had some of the highest ranked classes at Michigan State, including getting Plaxico Burress there and was able to start getting Louisiana kids to come to LSU instead of going to other SEC schools. He’s had like 10 #1 Recruiting classes at Alabama.

Okay. I never said it wasn't. I did say that this years UGA class was ONE of the best ever. Not the best.

Do you not think Kirby was recruiting any of these Freshmen when they were sophomores and juniors in HS? He probably had more to do with it than "very little."
