We will.

We will not huddle, but will still milk every second of that play clock while Spurrier and Mangus signal in a play with 6 seconds left. Only after Shaw/Dylan do a few fakes to only look back at HBC. Can be effective but shite its frustrating at times

Yeah Bama has a lot of talent and a very good defense. But we always struggle with offenses that run that. Especially if they run it to the outside.

Y'all linebackers are usually too big to run sideline to sideline!!! Don't know about this year tho!!

Just FYI, Scam ran zone reads out of power formation and extremely tight splits on the OL while running hurry up no huddle and won a national title.
In other words, formation/OL Splits are not a must to run zone read or spread concepts. If you rep it in practice you can mix and match offensive concepts with formations till you're dizzy.
Tx Tech under Leach-with Holgo & Kliff Kingsbury on staff-never ran designed QB runs for 10 years with some of the best offenses in the nation. The spread was never originally designed for a running QB in mind. Mumme & Leach dreamed it up after stealing Lavell Edwards pass game route concepts-which again had little to nothing to do with mobility from the QB.
Like anything else in the game, its been modified by people who played against it or broke enough tape of it down to use it for their own purposes.

Kingsbury played for Leach, but never coached under him. His first coaching job was for Sumlin at UH.
But you point stands, as none of Leach's QBs (including Kingsbury) were runners. For that matter, Sumlin's spread teams at UH (with Holgersen and Kingsbury) were led by Case Keenum, who certainly wasn't a dual threat.
