No, it means you are going to lock Lane into a Jimboish contract and stuck with him even when he decides he is never punting again on 4th down.

Georgia fans. Somebody left the door open to the special Ed room, aguga got out with semperfidawg.

Mississippi schools cannot give contracts longer than four years. We will never sign Kiffin to a longer term contract because it’s not legal in our state.

Then you can say goodbye to Lane. He can go for it on every 4th down at the barn.

Kiffin doesn't want to go for it on 4th down at the barn. He wasn't to go for it on 4th down in Tuscaloosa eventually, which is why he's not going to Auburn.

And if they offer him the Jimbo contract, I won’t be mad.

Nobody is turning down that much fully guaranteed. Per year, we can match it’s just the length we can’t touch. I’m ok with the max four years. We don’t need to be in the A&M situation.

Because of Jimbo, no one's going to get offered these kinds of contracts again.

A good market correction for sure.

I feel he is content to ride out Ole Miss until he gets a shot to take over for Saban.

10 win seasons are NCs at UM, so the pressure is lower than it would be at AU who plays Bama and UGA annually. Lane will be the king of Oxford, as long as he chooses to be.

The 4 yr deal is why he will leave and I would too unless he really really likes the Grove. 10 yrs mostly guaranteed like Jimbo and Kelly received is now the going rate..90-100 million over the life of that contract vs a 4 yr deal? We aren’t paying 25 mill annually to even it out and the likely guarantee of let’s say 75 million is just too much to turn down.

If he’s winning ten games a season we’re in the playoffs more often then not once it expands. Top seed is great but getting in is the key.

Third year here and would be second year getting into the playoffs, in theory. Once they expand, my guess, is SEC championship becomes less important.

Don't forget about Mel Tucker at Michigan State.

$95m, 10-year contract.
quote:

If the university chooses to fire Tucker for cause, it will owe him his entire non-performance-related salary. That means $9.5 million per year, through the term of the contract (2032).

5–5 (3–4) so far in 2022.

That shouldn't have been downvoted. But, conference championships will still matter as they are the golden ticket info the CFPs. The at large teams give some breathing room, but 10 wins isn't a guaranteed spot by any means.

I can’t see KIffin going there because he will not put up with all the crap they generate.

If it helps you sleep at night, feel free to think whatever you want if it's that important to you.

If you sit around worrying about this, I don't know what to tell ya...
