Every kid thinks they should be the starter.

Seems like the days of letting a kid develop and learn is over. Now you just let him develop and learn at Hoboken State, West Eastern U, or Ole Miss. . .then transfer them in when you need them?

Going to be very weird and makes me, as a fan, feel more disconnected from the players on my team.

It's a new world, I guess.

No but I think teams will start putting a little more emphasis on players who grew up wanting to play for their school. Not that they’ll take appreciably worse players but if it’s close between two guys.

That may be a factor, but I also think a lot more emphasis will be put into intangible evaluation during recruiting to gauge character, resilience, team player, and leadership traits. Those are the players who will come in and compete with the best to earn their spots and playing time. If so, it might not be all bad.

But, that is only one half of the puzzle. It will be an open market of free agency. Coaching staffs will have to be smart about how they use "free agency." Too much and they disenfranchise the aforementioned players who are willing to develop in the system and EARN a spot. Too little and they lose a competitive advantage in available and proven talent.

It will be a new challenge for all.

We will end up with different methods of program development IMO.

1) The quick flip model where you continuously turn your roster over without waiting on recruiting

2) guys who still want to recruit and develop players and view the transfers like JUCOs to be used sparingly

3) the hybrid model where you still try to recruit your core roster of the roster, but heavily supplement as needed via free agency
