The SEC purposefully pushed back its fall camp start to Aug. 17 and season opener to Sept. 26 to monitor how the other sports, including the NBA and MLB, were handling playing games amid the COVID-19 pandemic. That hasn’t changed. SEC commissioner Greg Sankey has done a good job of encouraging the league’s 14 presidents and chancellors to hold the line and be patient, according to sources

Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby told the Dallas Morning News no decision has been made though there is a sense around the SEC that the Big 12 is closer aligned to the Big Ten and Pac-12 than the SEC and ACC.

There is considerable apprehension amongst college administrators about whether a spring football plan could work. Multiple athletic directors told AL.com that a move to the spring ultimately wouldn’t work and result in college football not happening again until fall 2021. That pessimism stems from the unlikelihood of a vaccine being ready in time for a spring season, the possibility of a COVID-19 resurgence coupling with flu season, and the possibility of large swaths of players opting out of the season.

Can someone explain a spring season coexisting with a new season in the fall? Or would it start in October or something. Which I wouldn’t be opposed to honestly

From what I’ve seen with a spring season, 2021 season would start October or November and run until February, taking out the off weeks from the end of the season prior to vows kicking off.

2022 season would then start like a month later and we’d Be back to normal by 2023.

With 3 of the P5 playing, the CFP will continue.

The B12 needs to hold firm with the SEC-ACC.

I think this will all come down to the Big 12. If they hold the SEC and ACC will.

So, it's actually the ACC that Dennis Dodd was citing in his tweet about the two conference commissioners not being in panic mode instead of the Big 12.

Big 12 needs to hold firm with the SEC/ACC.

Absolutely. Play the regular season then a game between the conference champs. Winner is national champ and the rest of the leagues can get fricked.

Definitely dumb how do you ever get back on a Fall schedule? I mean to start again in Aug or September after ending in June. No

And what incentive do those of us who got fricked on scheduling have? TBH, the SEC can get fricked.
