With Alleva out, does that make Ears McG the unquestionably worst AD in the SEC?

Serious question... I know dawg fans are reasonably united in that McG is a pretty terrible AD... but curious if other schools feel they have a challenger in that ring...

Bill Battle retired the title as an interim AD. That’s some skrong work.

Hardly see how we can give mcgarity credit for kirby, everyone in the world knows kirby was always UGA's to lose we just needed an opening. One could argue it should have happened sooner.

Crean is really the only hire I'll actually tip my hat to. We targeted Mata and Crean from the outset both of which would be home runs.

His hires in the minor sports (volleyball ie) have been garbage. His womens BB hire was pretty bad and just went after a UGA person. His gymnastics hire (yet again, just going after a UGA person) is unknown and although Kupets is nearly unmatched at a gymnast her only coaching experience was at a kids gym. Kupets is actually his 3rd gymnastics hire, the first was, whaddaya know, another UGa person (yoc's assistant) and he sucked, the 2nd was actually an outsider hire and she sucked too. Stricklin has finally started doing well but the first 4 years of his tenure I don't even think he had a .500 record in any season.

These are only the hires, not to mention the other stuff he's pitiful at.

Both Ole Miss and Missouri employ guys who actually decided cooperating with the NCAA is the best course of action

I’ll give him credit for having the patience (negligence?) to let Stricklin rebuild over a 5 year period to the point that we are starting to see quality results

Who knows with Crean but it’s not like firing Fox and Richt were ballsy decisions; Kirby was available and Richt had plateaued with a year of dysfunctional hires. Fox was the basketball version of Richt.

If I’m aggravated with McGarity for anything it’s his HORRIBLE PR skills, lack of any sort of master plan for the department, and allowing Foley and the tennis complex to languish so far behind conference competition that we have now lost the tennis national championship tournament for a while. I hope he will be the last of the Michael Adams hires to finally circulate our next year and be replaced with someone willing to spend the considerable resources at our disposal to be an innovative athletic department

Oh god, that’s the OTHER reason I despise McGarity: he and Carla Williams took the exact same approach with the NCAA by cooperating fully and left Gurley and AJ Green hanging out to dry as a result. They completely botched both cases

We just had an AD get fired on the spot for botching the T-total ever living shite out of a football coaching search and trying to hire greg schiano as a coach when we had just finished a title iv investigation. That guy certainly seemed pretty incompetent. The one before him hired Lane Kiffin, Derek Dooley and Butch Jones consecutively. Albeit kiffin probably wasnt that bad of a hire.

Past tense... I'm simply talking about current sitting ADs... Everyone's well aware of the clusterfrick that was Tennessee during the Butch removal/replacement phase.
