Why do LSU fans act like he's elite? That's comically bad.

Would you like for me to list all the NCAA coaches who have eight years of HC experience with more tournament wins?

Hopefully that one victory is worth it once they get the death penalty.

Certainly if you wish hard enough it’ll happen any day now!

Eric Musselman (6 college years) - 5 NCAAT wins
Nate Oats (6 college years) - 4 NCAAT wins
Will Wade (8 college years) - 2 NCAAT wins

There's 2 at the very least

Also, Wade was the VCU coach in 2016 and they won their 1st round game. So he has 2 NCAAT wins. And the 2019 season is pretty silly to disregard because he wasn't physically coaching - so that would put him at 4.

At this point it's pretty clear that Wade is less of a coach and more of just a gatherer of good but not great players.

He just gets them on campus and turns them loose to do their thing. Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of actual development going on in that program right now.

And we all know how he accomplishes the one part of his job that he's actually decent at

Do you want to make the argument for Wade being an elite coach then?

I like to call it the Kirby Smart effect. Results be damned, what recruits did you bring me?

he's 8 years younger than the next youngest coach in the league and has a conference title and sweet 16 under his belt. I think he's got things to improve on but people forget the guy is fricking 38. Coaches get better. When Oats was the age Wade is now, he was coaching PE at a high school in between his varsity games.

Not at all.

The ones that do are in some stupid cult of personality with him. There's a certain segment of the fanbase that worships Wade.

I think he's a elite recruiter, but needs a lot of bench help. I think he's pretty darn good, but not elite overall. His teams are wildly inconsistent and often underachieve.

Don’t even bite. The board is scared as frick of PEAR let them jerk each other off and pretend Wade hasn’t done a fantastic job at LSU so far. It’s all the usual suspects in the thread too (minus WildcatMike)

Tremont Waters and Skylar Mays went from guys who wouldn’t sniff the draft to contributors in the NBA. Javonte Smart, Darius Days, and Trendon Watford all improved their games tremendously since stepping on campus. That’s just a few off the top of my head.
