There just doesn't seem to be much national interest gathering concerning the lack-luster gaggle of qualified applicants.
In comparison to years past:

No. Clemson vs OSU is one of the most anticipated matchups of the year and the NCG (assuming LSU wins) would be highly watched no matter who wins the OSU Clemson game

The playoff is supposed to have the four best teams. You have three undefeated teams with one 1 loss team from Power 5 conferences. It doesn't get any better.

According to your wisdom, it would be even lower if Ga. was in and LSU out. LSU has a helluva lot more national followers than Ga. does.
