We all know football is probably as dirty.
Would anyone ever look into it this closely, knowing the money that’s on the line?

NCAA cannot stop the FBI.
The tourney is the biggest moneymaker for the NCAA anyway.

Basketball recruiting was/is far dirtier than football recruiting.

Sine when does the FBI need the NCAA's permission to investigate illegal payments and money laundering?

Maybe, but football generates a hell of lot more money than basketball for the schools and the conferences.

I'm curious how the NCAA will react if it's a worst case scenario. Putting a slew of programs on probation may not be realistic. The best option may be banning the coaches involved

Why would the FBI investigate if not invited to?

But even the f they did, couldn’t the NCAA just ignore their findings?

Umm... the NCAA didn't invite the FBI to investigate basketball teams.

The operation that the feds laid out is college basketball recruiting 101. It began when a prominent financial planner from the sports world was ensnared in a securities fraud case and turned into a cooperating witness. He was able to bring an undercover FBI agent along as a supposed assistant for meetings, payouts, recorded conversations and so on.

AAU is the wild west and their coaches, shop reps and cash are a perfect storm for corruption.
Nobody has any type of jurisdiction or regulation over the organization.

Can’t wait until Bama is first on the list.

I agree, but 7-on7s and the handlers are catching up.

Not really. Way more money involved with shoe companies in hoops than boosters in football.

frick the NCAA, they lost me when they let Miami and UNC skate but suspended Todd Gurley four games over stupid shite that others got away with.
fricking kill that institution with fire, start a new one more fit to what college sports has become.
