Didn't they lose their two best offensive players in Sanders/Lattimore?

Eh we were 3-0 vs Clemson while Lattimore was here. Lattimore didn't play in 2 of those games due to injury and the game he did play in he didn't have that good of a game.

Lattimore is undoubtedly a big loss but teams really need to get over this "we can't win without Lattimore" mentality. That was true in 2010 but when we didn't have him in 2011 and 2012 when he went out with injuries we have a pretty damn good record.

I actually feel sorry for VT having to open against Bama. Beamer's teams have not been "on par" for a few years now. I don't see him keeping his job very much longer although I do like him, so I'd hate to see him go. Been there a long time.

no ACC wins this year

FSU has no chance against us, we ran it down their throat last year with their so called #1 defense. and our offense was terrible.

our line is improved, and now we have 3 capable backs instead of just gilly.

a true freshman quarterback will not win his first game in the swamp

It's quite amusing to see how much hype they're giving Jameis Winston right now.

I don't see any of those meeting your criteria of being "better-than average chance" of the ACC beating the SEC. Maybe (big maybe), Clemson over UGA.

This. Why does VT continue to shoot itself in the foot every year by opening with a top tier SEC team. Wasn't that long ago that LSU put a hurtin on em in Baton Rouge, and Bama doing it even more recently.
