You can't include Tennessee in the list of teams yet...

Not sure if 0-8, but LSU was winless in SEC in 1982

Firing Bobby Hill is just the spark the team needed. Tennessee goes on a two week tear of SEC dominance just in time to win the offseason.

Probably because they have only been playing 8 SEC games for 25 years (since 1992 expansion). They have been having SEC champions since 1933.

Now...how many teams have gone winless in the SEC, and when was the last time they did it?

Vanderbilt - 2014
Kentucky - 2013
Arkansas - 2013
Auburn - 2012
Ole Miss - 2011
Mississippi State - 2002
South Carolina - 1999
Alabama - *1993 (on paper) - 1955 (on field)
LSU - 1983
Florida - 1979
*Tulane - 1963
*Sewanee - 1940
*Georgia Tech - 1934

For those new comers...here is the last time aTm and MIZZOU went winless in their conference:

aTm - 1970 (SWC)
MIZZOU - 1971 (Big 8)

Teams that have not gone winless in their conference since the inception of the SEC (Minimum of 10 years in the conference): Tennessee, Georgia

Last time they went winless in any conference:

Tennessee - 1924 (0-4 in the Southern Conference)
Georgia - 1905 (0-5 in SIAA)

So...Georgia is the only current SEC team that has not gone winless (in the conference they were playing in) in conference play for over a century.

Bama 1993.

LSU is the only West team to never gone to the valley at 0-8 and has gone to the mountaintop at 8-0.

So until Texas a&m goes 8-0 LSU stand alone as premier program.

How does a team go winless on paper exactly?

They had to forfeit 8 wins and 1 tie from the regular season.

Vanderbilt, or even Coach O, may screw up this golden opportunity for the Vols.
