If ATM were to maintain the level of recruiting that they did last year even Jimbo would have them winning 8-9 games a year most years. That hasn't happened, however, and its unlikely that Petrino gets ATM where their fans think they belong. Does he keep them a pernial 9 game winner though? Probably. 8 and 5, 9 and 4, an occasional upset of Alabama or LSU is the ceiling for ATM no matter who the coach is though....

You bitches literally left the big 12 to escape Texas. And now you have to deal with Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama every year… lmao

Meh. A&M would have a winning record all time against LSU if y’all weren’t chicken shits and demanded the games be played in Baton Rouge.

LSU demanded and and A&M cucked.

We agree that Petrino is a brilliant play caller. But with his track record of bailing, there is enough uncertainty for fans to be excited but also to take a wait and see approach. The risk is worth it, because hiring a competent OC was make or break for Jimbo.

Petrino is definitely capable of dominating SEC defenses. Jimbo knows this and has gotten the message that he needs to focus on being the CEO. If they mesh well together, then the answer is yes.

An upset against lsu is no upset now. BMFP calling the plays will mean a lsu win will be the upset.

This hire is eerily similar to when LSU hired Pelini two years ago

What has Jimbo ever done in his coaching career that would make you think he let's Petrino have control of the offense? That is the only way this works. Petrino has to have complete control and keep it even if they lose a couple games. I can't see Jimbo allowing that.

We averaged 31 points per game and scored 34 offensive points against Bama and 38? Against lsu

If Bobby calls the plays and removes Jimbo from that equation, I see that it can only help

I can’t imagine him with this talent level and only focused on offense vs. running a program.

He's walking into a situation with a 5* QB, 5* WR, 5* RB, with everyone else being 4*. He might be happy about only having to run an offense and not be burdened with the rest of the bullshite that comes with being a HC. If he isn't successful at TAMU, then he's definitely washed-up. If he can't get it done with our talent and resources, then he can't do it anymore.

Last time BP was an OC was 2002, luckily they both have laid back personalities so no issue on play call selection.

And where is coach orgeron employed today? Surely a national championship winning coach has another job.

I’ll hang up and listen.

Wasn't scared of Evel Knievel at Rkansas and definitely not scared of Evel Knievel at Texas 8&4

Good knight
This fudge packer really believes this.
Remember when this pole smoker said that oyster lugger captain would never beat their messiah?
Now the messiah sucks so bad he was forced to demote himself from running the offense.
A washed ol kracka is the new messiah.
Vandy has got to be relieved that they have been replaced as the league bottom dweller.

I think he is the best play caller in college ball in the last 25 years. I watched him kick a 10-win Alabama team in Tuscaloosa with a fourth string freshman tailback and the converted tight end at fullback. Damndest thing I’ve ever seen. That’s when I knew.

If he weren’t such a scumbag he’d be one of the best head coaches in the game.

Think about it. Now we’ve got LSU fans literally claiming that Petrino is not a good offensive coach. Even though has consistently done more with less over his career.

If it was any other school besides A&M, LSU fans would not demonstrate this level of cognitive dissonance.
