Once he is gone, so goes Vandy’s top ranking.

Likely, yes.

Pavia is likely making more money now than he could ever make in the NFL. He's unlikely to be drafted or ever become a long term NFL player. In fact, he recognized that in his court filing seeking a 6th year. His lawyer argued that Pavia's "market" is as a college football player and that the arbitrary NCAA eligibility rules are an unlawful restraint of trade. Meaning his actual argument is that as long as Vanderbilt (or any other college) is willing to enroll him as a student, he should be allowed to play college football...be it 7, 8, 9, 10 years.

That sounds crazy....but that argument is already starting to come up

Lea has put together a winning program and will find someone to come in and replace him. His culture is that of older mature players that want to hit you in the mouth.

It's either college or Canada for him.

College pays much more these days.

At some point literally ANY rules are a "restraint on trade." Is having to be enrolled in school to play a restraint on trade? It's gotten ridiculous because our judicial system is filled with morons.

I could see him transition into a Tayom Hill type of role for a team in the NFL.

It is probably legit also. Given that transfers have almost zero control and NIL is the wild west there is no reason that anyone only have 4 years of eligibility. There is also no need for a cap on rosters...hell, dress 300 per game and have some who are close to drawing social security. No reason they can't also go to the NFL and return to college or even play in the NFL and College at the same time...placekickers could easily pick up a couple of million $ that way. Hell, there is no reason they ought not be allowed to transfer mid season and even on a BYE week and return to their original team for the next game. I know all of that sounds ridiculous but given the shift in CFB would anyone be shocked if any or all of that came to pass?

The college game is dead. NFL-lite without the benefits of being a professional league.

He 100% will. He’ll get denied but it’ll set a precedent that will give us more 6 year QBs in the future. Not 7 because we will never have a shut down of the country again in our lives
