Since this door is opened now will we see this from now on?

I hope not. It's a terrible look to quit during the season. Sitting out a meaningless bowl game or sitting out an entire season is one thing. But, making a commitment to a team and then bailing out with regular season games left to play because things aren't going your way is some pussy shite.

Once a team falls out of the playoff race or season not going well I can see it. It all started with McCaffery and Fournette a few years ago sitting out the bowl game.

I can even understand a (somewhat) meaningless bowl game... at that point most persons sitting have proven themselves and really gain little by playing. It also lets the staff play their youth as able since one can play in up to four games without losing a season of eligibility.
I’m sure the persons have their reasoning though...

Did you mean to say, "I'm sure the persons have their [reasons] though..." Yet you talk to me about literacy. go dig a ditch Mr. Gump you'll get that promotion one day.

As long as opting out is an option, it will be part of the landscape.
Kind of like how taxes when introduced are never removed.

Those are no more acceptable than midseason quitters. Honor your commitments.

Opting out is the same thing as quitting, just now socially acceptable.

If a draft eligible player declares for the NFL after the regular season instead of playing in the Weedeater Bowl, his commitment has been fulfilled. It's an exhibition game.

I would agree with that

Ok... yes I meant “reasons”... I didn’t pay attention to autocorrect.
I don’t have time to dig ditches... I’m a Quality Control Supervisor at an aircraft maintenance facility.
Is your mom/wife helping you with the larger words?

What at Boeing? That would make sense. Don't worry about me baw, I acquired this impressive vocabulary long ago all on my own. Could you see if your mom/wife could help me with a few words I'm having trouble with though?

It depends on how the NFL looks at it.
If a lot of guys still get drafted/taken into the NFL, then it will likely stick around.
If the NFL sees them as quitting, no chest having baby back bitches then maybe guys will at least think twice before doing it.
A lot of people say the portal is bad, but I think it's only bad for coaches who promise shite and don't come through with it.

I think if they call it what it really is, maybe less would do it.
Opting out = quitting
