I think they join the B1G and it will be around the time of their next TV contract.
I believe money and traditional rivals will be the reason.

Hands down, the Big 10. They won't like it all, but they will go.

The yearly SEC-Big Ten Challenge with Notre Dame.
Assign them 4 teams from the SEC and 4 teams from the B1G. The conference with the best record against them gets bragging rights, with the tie-breaker (2-2 split) being total score against.
Who says no?

They will join the Big however many conference when they don’t get preferential treatment anymore

The new playoff deal allows them to stay independent as long as they can sign a competitive TV deal they won’t join either.

Big 10 due to geography and lack of chest.

DirtyDawg, I love your idea for a B1G/SEC challenge. It would make the regular season more exciting and produce massive ratings.

The winning side gets to pick the soda company ND uses on campus.
The Cola wars are back baby

Does either conference really want them?

Yep. And ND is the only program whose AD is on the playoff management committee ir whatever it is.
Preferential treatment for ND. Same as it always was.

This is the correct answer.

Should have to abstain anything to do with Notre Dame or their competition.

Then they would probably be drinking pee. No one seems to like them.
It would definitely be more entertaining than Fansville.

They would get their arse handed to them with clock like regularity in SEC play.
Would actually be pretty entertaining seeing the toll that would take on the collective psyche of their entitled, delusional fanbase.

Who cares. ND will never be what they were back during the black and white tv days

Notre Dame would mean more money so Yes, both leagues would love to have them. Neither conference needs them but they would be the biggest expansion get of them all.

Texas is a bigger expansion get than ND and I hate Texas
