South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp’s son Jackson certainly created a story when he made the decision to walk-on at Georgia to play quarterback. It certainly has the potential to make for a bit of a fun, awkward situation in the Muschamp household.

Originally committed to Colorado State on a full scholarship, Jackson made the decision to flip to the Bulldogs. What does the Gamecocks head coach think of that?

“He won’t tell me anything, I can assure you of that,” Muschamp said on the Paul Finebaum Show. “My observations of him are going to be how he’s doing, how his health is and if he’s happy. That’s all I care about. I appreciate Kirby — Jackson went to camp there and had a really good camp. He had some scholarship opportunities and just felt like that was the best situation for him. He didn’t want to play for dad, certainly not at that position, from a standpoint of — if he plays, it’s because of me. If he doesn’t play, it’s because of me. So I didn’t want to put him in that situation. I felt like if he had played another position, you would’ve been able to get on special teams and do some other things, he would’ve wanted to be at South Carolina. But that wasn’t the case. And I totally understood that, we had this conversation a long time ago. But he’s excited about his opportunity, I’m excited for him. He can talk scheme with his mom, but he can’t talk with me.”

According to the 247Sports composite, Jackson is the No. 97-ranked pro-style quarterback in the class of 2020. He had committed to Colorado State over several offers, including Boston College, Jacksonville State, Middle Tennessee, Samford, Western Carolina, and Wofford.

Maybe he can bulk up and play TE or H-Back or something.

He'll be the greatest place holder in UGA history if he's ready to put in the hard work.

I've had to coach against my son the last couple of years. Makes for some interesting times...

He’s never going to play but he gets to be on the UGA football team. I’m sure that comes with some perks even for a scrub

His daddy walked on at UGA and paved a way for himself.

I wouldn't count the kid out with regards to finding the field. Never is a strong qualifier.

Is his dad able to afford that out of state tuition?
