Will Georgia avoid the post-title Saban-era slump?

The five teams that won titles since Saban signed on at Alabama in 2007:
2007 LSU
2008 Florida
2010 Auburn
2019 LSU
2021 Georgia
Following season:
2008 LSU - 8-5 (3-5 SEC)
2009 Florida - 13-1 (8-0 SEC) - SEC East champs
2011 Auburn - 8-5 (4-4 SEC)
2020 LSU - 5-5 (5-5 SEC)
2022 UGA - ?-? (?-? SEC)
UGA will probably join Florida as the only team to not fall off the rails after a national title, but one never knows.
For contrast, Alabama's post-title season records:
2010 - 10-3
2012 - 12-1 (National Championship)
2013 - 13-2
2016 - 14-1 (SEC Champs)
2018 - 14-1 (SEC Champs)
2021 - 13-2 (SEC Champs)

Georgia is in a better position than the others were.

Definitely agree. Their schedule is absurdly easy, and they've stocked enough talent that even with the draft gouging of their roster they should have more talent than anyone on their schedule.
The only thing I could see causing them losing more than 1 (maybe 2) is if the youth of their defense doesn't gel and they end up in more shootouts than they should otherwise be in (but I find that scenario highly unlikely).

We aren't going to win the title this year but we'll be a frickton better than everyone on that list besides 09 Florida. Like by a lot.

also important to note that kirby is exponentially better of a coach than miles, chizik, or orgeron.

Just depends on what they lost, I didn't really keep up with it.
2007 LSU lost quite a few of their senior leaders and the defensive coordinator. The major problem for them was they had no quarterback in 2008 because of Perrilloux's transgressions.
2010 Auburn lost Cam.
2019 LSU lost pretty much everyone.

I know, it's one of the few things they have left. If it brings a shred of joy into their lives just let em have it.

Not even your avi’s tiny arse can change the fact that Orgeron was 2-0 vs UGA with 20+ point wins in each game

For reasons that are sadly obvious, LSU fans like to pretend college football ended after 2019.

They also like to pretend that they didn't hire a guy who had a 3-21 SEC record prior to becoming their interim HC.

Ole Miss’s 1-5 record vs Orgeron at LSU was impressive

Anything to deflect from your .500 record since winning the national championship

Why should LSU fans give a frick what Orgeron did at Ole Miss?
All it does is show the vast difference between the two programs, thank you

They have lost a shite load of players and talent so there’s no doubt there will be a drop off. And those frickers don’t remember what it’s like to win something that big, hangover will be big. Kirby knows how to manage it to some degree but not as a HC….

I don’t know about that. If not UGA, it is gonna be Bama, Ohio State, or maybe Clemson if they find someone to replace DJU

It wouldn't matter either way, the record would still be the same.
Ed hasn't faced Georgia since 2019.
