I dont think it is all that far fetched. If we have another down year like last year, and he puts up monster numbers it could happen. The voters seem more open to the idea than they have been in the past. Plus the Clowney hype train will be out of control this year.

DT did it in, what, 11-12 games? I could see it being broken in the 14 games that some teams play. Wouldn't be as impressive, but I still don't see it as implausible.

So DT didn't get all those sacks? Why are you mad anyway? You really do sound mad.

I'm almost certain you didn't make it past the 6th post of this thread.

DT had 27 sacks in 1988 through 11 games.

Bama then played Army (who ran the triple option and only attempted 6 passes for the game with 0 completions and 1 INT, so no chance for sacks) in the Sun Bowl. DT still blocked 2 field goals in that game and Bama won by 1 point. DT also blocked 2 more FG's earlier that season.

DT's 1988 season is EASILY the greatest defensive season of all time in college football. If he had played today's 14 game schedule, he would have had over 32 sacks for the year (actually more since not many teams run the option today)

Apparently you're just as dumb as the other Alabama fan trying to argue. Please reread anything and everything I wrote and tell me where I said that.

Dealing with double digit IQ's is a little frustrating, but how do I sound mad in the least? Your butthurt cohort is the one clenching his colon in anger at a simple joke.

This. I can't remember a defensive player with as much hype entering a season besides maybe Honey Badger last year, but we all know how that turned out. Listen to the Michigan fan...Clowney is the truth.

I agree. There aren't very many that I can think of that even come close to rivaling it.

Teddy Bruschi finished his career at Arizona with 52 sacks.

And here come the fairweather fans. Please tell me where these circles I have talked in are? I simply state that DT's record isn't official and the incestuous inbreds come out in flocks to defend the record holder that officially isn't.

I think in terms of playmakers, Derrick Thomas can rightfully be said to be at least on the same level as Tyrann Mathieu.

A UT fan wants to claim another school has incestuous inbreds? Seriously?

Solid reply. Almost as ludicrous as an Alabama fan calling anyone else a hillbilly. Would read again.

I've always wondered what your connections to Michigan and Bama are. Seems like two odd schools to have connections to.

My parents, 2 aunts, 2 uncles, 4 grandparents, are alums. My great grandfather was a regent, dean of the business school, and wrote the music to the Alma Mater at Michigan.

I went to Bama.

Interesting. Would have assumed with that kind of history you'd have been a Michigan man.
