IF my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. What we can only go by is the system that is CURRENT at the time. Either way, Bama has more NC's than anyone so y'all can continue to play catch up.

His thoughts might prove important. I'd imagine he is going to want 'in' on this upcoming selection committee, along with Bowden I believe.

I have no idea how the non-conference affiliated members are going to be chosen.

Hey! Everyone keeps saying that Bama is the premier program in college football and the beacon of the conference.

If the points were tallied like the BCS in '77, Alabama, Notre Dame, and most especially Arkansas aren't even in the discussion. The AP Top 5 looked like this at the end of the 1977 regular season:

#1 Texas (11-0)
#2 Oklahoma (10-1)
#3 Alabama (10-1)
#4 Michigan (10-1)
#5 Notre Dame (10-1)

Would the voters have gone for a re-match of the Texas-Oklahoma game from the regular season? I think they would have. The Sooners only lost to the Longhorns by a score of 13-6.

Not the AP or Coaches, but they did get the FWAA.

He'd be right too.

Who was Notre Dame's loss to that year, Ole Miss right?

And who was Arky's loss to, #1 Texas was it? And Notre Dame beat Texas in the bowl, right?

So would it have been a rematch to see Arky and Texas play in a bowl? I guess so. Maybe that was the problem?
