Wikipedia's list of football NC's credits the Hogs with 2, but we have 4!

1964 and 1977. Why don't we claim '77? Bama does it all the time. We beat the shite outta the #2 rankied Oklahoma Sooners with several starters benched. Notre Dame should not have been voted over us. In retrospect, I think we could make the strongest case to claim it.

Notre dame(as much as i hate them) was ranked ahead of arkansas before the bowls, and beat the #1 team in their bowl game. How does Arky deserve it more than them? Bama was #3 and won their bowl and didn't get it either

I've long held forth that we have legit claims on 4 natty's.
1908, 1964, 1965, and 1977.
I also give us an * for 2010, when Auburn has to vacate that'll leave us at the top of the heap having our losses vacated.

? I think the AP had them #6 and us at #4. We both won our bowls. Us much more convincingly.
ETA-poll average did have them at five and us at 6. They beat number one Texas 38-10. So, I guess they could claim a share of it.

I think the 77 season is the only year that the the hogs have been declared the national champion by a ncaa recognized outlet. Our bama total is definitely 2.

See my edit. I heard Holtz bitching about it. He claims two. I couldn't find the final regular season poll breakdowns to compare just the average (them 5 us 6)

Wikipedia gives us 9 and the Dawgs 5. Neither of us claim that much.
