Why would Thaddeus Moss go undrafted?

He seems like a very good tight end. I'm not saying he's the next coming of Gronk, but he certainly seemed good enough to be a mid-round pick. Maybe I missed some news about him, is there an injury issue or something?

There was an injury.

Ah, yeah it looks like it was discovered he had a broken foot at the combine. Still seems worthy of being drafted, though. Looks like he is going to get signed by the Redskins quickly.

Has now had fractures in both feet. Because of Coronavirus, medical staffs can’t evaluate him further right now

Injury, smaller size, wasn’t able to participate in combine so teams couldn’t do their own Evals.
Signed with Redskins.

Gotcha, I didn't realize that he had had injuries in both feet.

JR Reed was a Thorpe Award finalist and went undrafted.

He is too slow and not explosive as a receiver. He does have good hands but defensive players are faster in the NFL. He will be cut in training camp imo.

He couldn’t be medically evaluated because of the pandemic by an clubs, he got signed immediately after though he should make the 53

Because they don’t count illegal touching catches in the NFL

ETA: Even the player numbers are similar

It was illegal touching prior to the catch, but it’s in the past. Fact of the matter is LSU came to play that day and probably would’ve scored regardless. Just felt like trolling

Maybe if Diggs wouldn't have touched it first.

According to the SEC officiating, it wasn’t illegal touching because Moss was “forced out”, which is BS. If Diggs touching the ball obviously negated illegal touching, I’m sure the refs would’ve gone with that as it would be easier to justify. Either way, LSU would’ve scored more than likely. I’ll accept it for what it is since Bama got away with a bad sideline call in ‘09.

I remember him being a pretty big kid, am I wrong?

The same reason Philip Lutzenkirchen did.

Moss went undrafted because he failed the combine physical as they found his other foot to be fractured, he had a broken foot back in 2018 that made him miss the entire season, now they found something wrong in his other foot, and instead of working out at combine, they failed him and he went got more surgery done on his other foot.
He was never going to be a high end prospect due to 1 year of film, being only 6'2, 250 and maybe a 4.7-4.8 guy at best. He definitely was a mid-late rounder though if he didn't get red flagged at combine for that foot though, not working out at all doomed him pretty much as they had no numbers on him with limited film and a bad injury history.
