Why would LSU go after anybody BUT Aranda?

He has Baylor playing tough football, unlike the dirt burglars or that clusterfrick in Austin.

I guess there could be concern about his lack of offensive track record, but I really don’t understand why he’s not the THE list.

Don’t get me wrong. I’d prefer LSU give Curley Hallman one more chance, but I don’t think he’d come back.

Some seem to really want Jimbo.

I think Aranda would be great, but I also think Tucker would win there.

I can't imagine the next hire being as bad as O and that guy won a natty

Aranda is in my top 3. He’s been quietly impressive at Baylor.

I'd 100% support hiring Aranda, but he's not the ONLY guy I'd be ok with either.

Aranda would be a solid choice. Obviously a damn good coach. Has a recent championship ring as a DC. Absolutely turned around the Baylor program in 12 months. Experience with the LSU program.

Aranda will be HC for a major CFB program within the next 2 years, and he will be a good hire.

That kind of coach doesn't stay at a program like Baylor for more than a few years. He's about to be scooped up by a major. Only question is which one.

He's #1 on my list. That's for damn sure. I think he will be very successful for a very long time, wherever he ends up.

Baylor has only committed one penalty in the last two games. The discipline he has brought to that program is very impressive.

I don't see why they haven't looked hard at Aranda. But, it's simply not a sexy enough hire for Woodward, and Aranda doesn't have the best feelings for LSU these days

Matt Rhule was offered a King's ransom to leave, I would hardly use that as your rule of thumb on whether Baylor can retain good coaches.

I'll agree Baylor isn't a major in the way LSU is, but Baylor has much lower expectations and offers far better job security than LSU does. It's not a no brainer for Aranda to take the LSU job so early in his head coaching career, especially considering LSU will probably think they can lowball him due to his inexperience.

good job btw pointing out Baylor is not a major program twice in two sentences. old hatreds die hard.

Who says they haven't? No one knows who Woodward has or hasn't looked at. Everything right now is purely conjecture

Aranda is my first choice. I hope it’s him. His Baylor teams are organized and well coached.

We lost that after he left LSU.

Thanks for proving my point.

You said it yourself. Your own fans don't even expect to compete at the top levels of the game. So why would a coach with the drive and ability to do so stay there?

That's like saying an aspiring CEO will stay in a middle management cubicle job because the pay is decent and nobody bothers them too much.
