Why would Clemson want to be in the SEC? They play exactly ONE ranked team this year

They somehow miss both North Carolina AND Miami. Good golly gee.

Dabo's world is gonna come crashing down when the law of averages catches up like a motherf*cker next year or two.

Clemson would have maybe two playoff appearances if they played in the SEC.

$100 million a year will be why they would want in. If they join with Florida State, hopefully the SEC would just say f*ck it and take it to 20 or 24 teams. Try for Notre Dame, if they decline, take Clemson, Florida State, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Kansas, Virginia, and NC State.

4 six team divisions(pods) all geographically connected

Mr. "Hook Em Horns", your school is the poster child for proving money isn't enough to win. Texas should be running neck and neck with Alabama with the vulgar amount of cash they have.

Clemson has demonstrated that they have enough money to accomplish everything they need to compete at the highest level. In the CFP era, the Big 12's best school in Oklahoma has been a whipping boy for our team as we've beaten them like a red headed step child.

Texas will be a 6-8 win team in the SEC..just well paid.

They’ve done pretty well against LSU, Auburn, Alabama and Georgia through recent history.

I don't disagree...but surely you can agree the right coach is what turns programs around, not money.

Also...you will be in the SEC within 10 years or so, the ACC is the next conference to fall.

I also wondered that about OU. They play in a conference where the 3rd ranked recruiting class won’t even be in the top 25 most years and Texas sucks.

They’ve got a cake walk and will now walk into a meat grinder

On the "Right Coach" At a place like Texas, how many coaches have you gone through? I would argue that the Texas money and politics will always get in the way of a good coach. You've have coaches after Brown that were successful at other programs but Texas is too political. That's part of the problem that Jimbo had at FSU...So the right coach can work if allowed to do his job.

Unless Clemson can get out of the Media rights deal they aren't going anywhere for 15 years. Clemson is a founding member of the ACC and unless the league fall apart they aren't going anywhere. If this Alliance with the Big and Pac 12 works out they'll be more firm in the ACC.

They don’t want to be in the SEC. It was just ESPN planted kayfabe to spin up fan chest thumping and enhance the ACC brand a bit imo.

Well 3 in 10 years, Mack had no problem navigating this alleged politics problem. Also, you say Clemson has enough money to do whatever it needs to do, how many coaches did you go through before Dabo?

Well...I don't know how far back you want me but Fromm 1978-1989 we had Danny Ford with a 96-29-4 record with a National Title and in his final year he went 10-2 with a Gator Bowl win(when teams played 11 games and the Gator was a solid bowl)....The those damn boosters, politicians forced him out and brought in Ken Hatfield which was hated from day one because he replaced a beloved coach with the fan base. In his 4 years he had a respectable 32-3-1 record but hen never connected with the fans and he left. After that we had Tommy West who was a a bad hire and had about a .500 record and he lasted until 1998. Tommy Bowden was there for a decade and he specialized in mediocrity and the creator of the term "Clemsoning". In 99 - resent we've enjoyed a great run with Dabo.

The extra SEC money you guys will be making will go to the buyouts of the coached you will be firing.

So you've basically proven my point that good coaches are what turn programs around

Makes me wonder why Texas and OU wanted to join the SEC when literally the Red River Pillow Fight is the only "tough" game on the schedule...
