Hearing FL and Ole Miss would kill to have him. I read his wiki guy has done jack shite as a head coach. Best record was 8 wins at South Fla.

I guess he's known as a recruiter because he has sixth best recruiting class at Oregon ATM.

What am I missing?

Can’t answer your question, but FSU wants him too.

The same wiki you said you just read says his best record is 11 wins at South Fla....it was USF's first dbl-digit win season in program history....

Affirmative Action interview and/or hire.

OM needs it.
FSU for his florida connections, and recruiting.
Aggies cause you know replacing a black coach with a white one is frowned upon.

He needs to stay oregon to prove he's worth a lick. Major programs have to stop falling for coaches that have success within the 3-4 yrs range of the prior coach. False results.

Why in the world would he leave Oregon for OM?

Maybe not OM but another southern school. Charlie is reaping the benefits of what Willie built and they’d likely be undefeated if he was still there

He has deep Florida ties and probably doesn't like the Pac NW... He also runs a much more tough nosed offense an Doro gram than what Oregon is used to.

He'd probably be a decent fit at both Fla. And FL. ST, but he'd be done O the list a bit

Taggart is an interview only, he's stuck at Oregon at least 1 more year.

Jimbo will stay at FSU; there's no way they let him go unless he just absolutely forces the issue. If he did leave for 7/40 at ATM or something, they would go NFL is my guess. Maybe they could convince themselves to hire Pruitt, thus starting their own Saban coaching tree cycle of suck.

Taggert is a pretty good coach. His turnaround of Oregon was certainly helped by Jim Leavitt being his DC. If Leavitt gets another gig in the big chair, Taggert won’t look so spectacular. But he did manage to turn WKU into a winner and then USF.
