I don't have a problem with them, but it seems like they would be more competitive in the ACC.

They have won a title in a major sport more recently than UGA.

Because they were one of the founding institutes

You'd never last making a thread about a good school if this is your troll level.
Vandy holds their own.
Vandy holds their own.

Pains me to do, but I issued an upvote.

Well for starters they’ve won a national championship more recently than UGA so the better question should be why is UGA in the SEC?

And provide the lasting protection of a private school when it comes to the FOIA.

About a month ago Georgia thought they might win the national title. Now they are smack talking Vandy. What a fall.

Not a bad question, but probably not one a UGA fan wants to ask. Vandy, like UGA, is 0-2 in their last two bowl games.
What's UGA's contribution, exactly?

Vanderbilt is the best school academically in the SEC. They also hold their own in every sport except for football.

Vandy is also much smarter than the other charter SEC members - Tulane and Georgia Tech - who elected to go their separate ways. Gave away their meal ticket because they were too good for the SEC. Sad!

Vanderbilt is the only elite school in the SEC academically. Georgia, Florida, and Texas A&M are good schools.

Thanks for clarification; I just thought it was because we own that Auburn butt.

This, here, is a very typical response I have gotten from UGA fans when discussing SEC academic caliber. The intent is to validate UGA as being among the few SEC schools with good academics. I'm not arguing that's why you said this, but this is a general truth.
All SEC schools are good schools. Each have a rich history, and have been prominent in academics as well as athletics dating back to the 19th century. Georgia and Tennessee even date back to shortly after the American Revolution. There is nothing bad about a degree from any SEC school. Each offer an excellent ROI and accredited programs that would pace any student light years above a high school diploma. I, for one, would be very proud to attend Mississippi State, which gets ragged on as being the "worst" school in the conference.
Now, back to Vanderbilt and the OP's inquiry. Vanderbilt is the only "Elite" school in the conference. We are very proud to have Vanderbilt in the SEC. To suggest they haven't done anything is just stupid. Losing Nashville as an SEC city would be an extremely foolish move. Going to assume this is just a troll, and a pathetic one at that.
