Because it's a founding member that didn't bitch out like Tulane, Sewanee, or Georgia Tech.

You do realize that the SEC is more than just football right? There’s actual universities associated with each football program.

The SEC has only been around for 88 years.

Are you suggesting that we send Vandy back to the Southern Conference where they came from?

I can dig it.

Yes. But there needs to be some pressure put on them to not just roll out an intramural squad for football just to draw that check. It’s athletic welfare.

I am not sure if this is sarcasm or serious. They have beat TN three of the last five and five of the last nine in football.

I do agree for football but they did just win a national title in baseball. Their academic status makes the sec look good and that’s what shuts sankey up. You can blame the administration all you want but it also comes down to boosters. I just don’t think they have the fan support even if they did make a strong campaign for football to be relevant. They’re like Tulane. Most of their alumni don’t stick around and don’t give a shite about football. There’s not enough money.

They are pretty much the only classy school in the conference. You need at least one of those.
