I assume Team B is Vandy. And when they lost to LSU, they torpedoed any chance they might have. Killed their NET. Typical Stackhouse and typical Vandy.

I think 20+ wins just looks better than 19. Sounds stupid, but really I think that’s part of it.

20 wins seems to be some kind of unwritten threshold of getting in with SOS not being a big deal. I'm with you, doesn't make sense.

Pitt lost to Notre Dame (11-21, 3-17) 9 days after that Vandy loss to LSU.

There always seems to be one team that everyone just decides is in back in late January and never adjust to. Pitt seems to be that team this year.

Vandy also has the loss to Grambling which kills their NET as well. Take the Grambling and LSU losses away and they are probably on the bubble

I do think margin and how you look matters… vandy lost by 60 pts in Tuscaloosa, and their best player is out. They also have that inexcusable loss at lsu late in the year.

Granted, I don’t know a thing about Pitt.

Pitt just lost by by 27 to Duke yesterday

It's more of a Pitt thing than a Vandy thing, I think. I just don't get it.

If they win 2 of 3 of Grambling, Southern Miss and LSU they're comfortably in. As others have said, vintage Stackhouse (last year was similar).

No reason for team A to be in except that the bubble is extremely weak, I guess.

It’s frustrating as a fan of another sec team… they blow in the noncon, then become a tough out the rest of the way (when they’re not getting shitpumped by the leagues best team).

I think this is just gonna be VUs MO under stackhouse.

Team A NET: 67
Team B NET: 82

This is why Pitt is valued over Vandy but I don't understand why Pitt is in to begin with.

That’s a good comp honestly.

It also feels like Vandy under stallings… where they’re never gonna have the dudes to consistently win, but they’ll be well coached and a pain in the arse to play, esp in that gym.

Vandy isn’t done. They could beat UK today and that might get them in

Quad 1 win
20 win threshold
Would improve their NET a lot

What are the overall records in each quad?

Isn't it just possible that team A played more quad 3 opponents, while team B played more quad 4 opponents? Also, were those Q3 and Q4 losses for each home or road losses?

Those things matter.

If it's truly Pitt and Vandy, well, Pitt's NET ranking is 15 points higher than Vandy's.

ETA: Pitt's NET has dropped 11 points since the previous ranking. So, I'm not so sure that they are 'safely' in.
