Why is LSU taking so long to hire a defensive coordinator?

Would you want to work for Coach O?

There’s your answer

I would guess most name coordinators can see the writing on the wall with O and don’t want to be saddled to a firing in one year.

Sounds like the perfect opportunity to slide in as head coach to me.

Maybe if they aren't very confident in their abilities.

If LSU plays their normal 2020 schedule and fields a competent defense they're likely 8-4 or 9-3.

LSU has also shown that just because they fire a head coach doesnt necessarily mean they fire the coordinator.

I would be surprise if Odom is not on the hot seat after next year.

Major infractions and bans incoming because they cheated so badly in 2019.

Seems like people would be beating our door down to sign a four year deal and only having to coach one.

With asst coaches fleeing LSU every year, at some point LSU fans are going to be forced to admit one of the obvious causes: Ed the ballroom brawler, the same man who was once issued a restraining order on behalf of a woman who accused him of repeated violence, is a son of a bitch. He has great tenacity, and some of that rubs off on the team, and his competitiveness is just what you want, but he's out of control, and nobody wants to work for him. Someday, you'll all admit as much. Might as well admit it now.

Two coaches that were on the '19 team have returned for the '21 team. That pretty much blows your theory up.

Was one of them Joe Brady?

Two? Two coaches return out of 10 (or more)? And that disproves a statement that O is person many may not want to work for?

I really don’t care...believe what you want... but take a look at that ugly video of O throwing his headset and an air punch at Pelini. I wonder if prospective coaches might find that filmed action a little ... unsettling? Never seen the like of it.

Help me ... are the two returning coaches you refer to Faulk and Raymond?

There’s something afoul at LSU. This doesn’t bode well if O is replaced. A HC search might stretch into the summer.

He did ask how many turned it down. He asked why it’s taking so long. Reading comprehension issues?
