Why is Bama there?

Alabama seems to have gotten in on reputation more than their 2017 resume. Having said that, if any team should get in on their reputation, it should be Bama. They deserve the benefit of the doubt over the others in the discussion.
One question though, if LSU does not win out in convincing fashion after the Bama loss, does Bama get in based on an even more dubious schedule strength?

The bigger question is why LSU fans care so much about Ohio State or Alabama making the #4 spot.

So they shouldn't have been in there in 2012 but they beat LSU. This year if they beat Clemson are they now deserving and was the right pick made?

I don't disagree with that statement. LSU was not a huge win for Bama, but it was a top 25 victory which was rare for them.
