All the money goes to the top (NCAA). The conferences could be in control of their members. Why the need for the NCAA

March Madness money. As well, the cheating would have no one to control it beyond the league office. Do you reallly want Birmingham running the SEC?

As much as it pains us to admit this... there is a darn good reason the SEC and other conferences helped to create the NCAA. If you think things are bad now, remove the NCAA and watch things go completely to hell.

Now... reforming the NCAA so it doesn't have its head lodged so firmly up its behind...

Without a governing body, college athletics would essentially operate with a business structure similar to the mafia. That could turn out to be entertaining as frick though so I’m into it

This is a very common statement, but I’m not quite sure what it means. The NCAA has maybe 500 total employees, the rest of the money, mostly from the MBB tournament, goes back out to the schools, is used to stage championships, and is used to respond to lawsuits such as the O’Bannon versus NCAA.

Further the schools and the conferences are the NCAA. Look at the Board of Governors, they are all school and conference representatives. They vote on the president.

Alabama has run the SEC for years. Do you dispute that? the NCAA is all about a facade.
