Why doesn't Vandy use all that Trans surgery $$$ to buy a football team?

I get that they want to save all the athletic revenue, but apparently they are making major money lopping off body parts.

Vanderbilt is by far the richest SEC school. If they really wanted a football team, they could buy whatever they wanted.

Schools don't pay the players. Boosters and companies do.

Why doesn't Vandy take all that Trans surgery money to turn their football team into a girl's soccer team

Most Vandy students and alums just don't care about football that much. If they did, they would be better at it
For the same reason that Harvard, Yale and Princeton don't have great football teams. There was a time when they did. Their alumni are among some of the wealthiest in the world. They could afford it. They just don't care.

Some of their players might be in the middle of transitioning.

Vandy has the most money that they could use to get the best coaches...their alumni have plenty of money to throw around as well. The issue is...Football hasn't been important to them for the better part of 100 years.
Name me an SEC school that has more wealthy alumni (as a whole) than Vanderbilt. The issues are: Vandy Alumni don't give a 5hit about football...and much of Vandy's Alumni base aren't regional...so they don't stick around after they get their degrees.

You also have a win vs Tennessee in that time frame.

Vandy was doing it on minors. As young as 14. You ok with that?

It doesn’t concern me. I don’t think about it at all
Posted on 10/4/22 at 12:44 pm to deputyfife
Because football is not really that important

Plenty of respect for trans people. Anyone willing to cut off their penis is committed to the cause. You gotta admit that a man thinking he's a woman is kind of funny.

If the the rest of the SEC can figure out how to pay players, I’m sure one of the smartest schools in the nation could figure it out if they wanted to

That's pretty sad.

I can’t even believe they are involved with that kind of perverted activity

If you say so. Makes no difference in my day.

I think another problem, at least in part, is that these schools want their athletes to still qualify academically at their schools. It's tough to get a Mo Claiborne into Harvard. Just compare his Wonderlic to Ryan Fitzpatrick's! If universities ever start to offer "football" as a major, then you might see those schools start to improve some.
