Why does LSU make yearly “we’re not scared” statements?

Other teams just line up and play Bama.
It seems every year LSU players and staff come out with these huge “we’re not scared” statements that flood the media for weeks.
It seems if you keep having to say you’re not scared, you are definitely scared. “Guys we’re definitely not scared...let me tell you how not scared we are”. Odd

I just read all their bravado in the voice of Shaggy from the Scooby Doo cartoons and it kind makes sense.

As an LSU fan it does bother me. I wish we’d stop hyping it up and treat it like every other game.

For the same reason LSU fans think it wonderful when their woman beating, bar fighting, bass drum playing azzwipe of an orangantan ape coach walks to the stadium beating his chest, growling, opening his big gaping mouth and grunting “we comin!” IT IS ALL SHOW AT LSU. They actually think posturing and pretending and playing dress up with mommy’s clothes counts.
Think about this....in New Orleans when you need your house repainted, the crew asks (in Spanish) “ do you want an uptown paint job?” That means just paint the front of the house. I hope that helps explain the mind set of the corn dogs. Saying “we ain’t scared,” or “we comin” and looking menacing is good enough for government work.
