They won 9 last year and this year will be an improvement at almost every position on field

4 automatic losses + a history of underachieving = 7.4

The 9 last year included a bowl win. So, we had 8 regular season wins, and this year's schedule is more difficult (@Clemson, @UGA, @LSU).

And this is why strength of schedule matters.

When you have automatic losses to Alabama, Clemson, Mississippi State, Georgia, Auburn and LSU, it's hard to be optimistic when you're a game away from dropping to bowl ineligibility.

We would love to play yall as well, i live in Dallas, i could just drive down to your strange little cult town and watch the game. It would be a good weekend. Im not exactly sure why youre under the impression yall are some great football team that people are scared of. Literally the highlight of your season last year was losing by a small amount to clemson.

ESPN FPI for A&M in 2018:

NW State: 99.6% - Result: Win
Clemson: 24.3% - Result: Loss
ULM: 95.3% - Result: Win
Alabama: 15.8% - Result: Loss
Arkansas: 75.5% - Result: Win
Kentucky: 83.6% - Result: Win
South Carolina: 48.5% - Result: Win
Mississippi State: 38.0% - Result: Loss
Auburn: 19.0% - Result: Loss
Ole Miss: 75.7% - Result: Win
UAB: 94.5% - Result: Win
LSU: 65.2% - Result: Win

Looking at the FPI, ESPN is predicting A&M to win 8 games. It's extremely likely that ESPN gets one of their "loss" predictions wrong, maybe 2.

After reading this thread, I went back and watched every play of last years A&M-Ole Miss game, in a 35 minute video on youtube. They struggled mightily against a bad Rebel team, and should have lost the game if not for 2 Rebel turnovers inside the red zone, and some puzzling penalties against Ole Miss...such as a targeting call on a offensive lineman block on the line of scrimmage, something that happens every play of every game since football began. They were not very good last year. they were not as physical as even Ole Miss last year, and havent been for 5 years. my question is why anyone thinks they will be good every year in the preseason. State college routinely crushes them. Bama routinely crushes them. Ole Miss crushed them for 3 years straight after Manziel led them to miraculous last second wins over the Rebels. but LSU lost 74-72 last year, so they must be good. right? yeah. A&M is one of the winnable games for a NCAA-crippled Ole Miss every year. this year will be no different.

You clearly didn't watch the game.

The targeting call was on a blindside block by a tight end 9 yards upfield who teed off, left his feet, and led with his helmet.

Last second win? Ole Miss had the ball last in 2012 and threw a game-ending interception.

That 1 point win in 2016 was really "crushing" considering you were down 15 in the 4th quarter. Also, why no mention of 2017, when you lost to a lame duck coach at home...

another game that we completely dominated start to finish and managed to lose. my point remains, A&M is a winnable game for a crippled Ole Miss. every year.

dude, I told you I JUST FINISHED WATCHING THE WHOLE bullshite GAME. the call was made within 3 yds of AJ Brown who caught the pass. on a tight end who used his shoulder to make the block. our tight end did his job. Ole Miss should/could have won that game, in College Station. and you know it.

Its winnable for any team every year, they arent that good. They never have been lol. They got worked like a rented mule in the big 12 and since they have that weird cultish following it meant big dollars so we decided to let them in. Some D-bag fan of theirs is going to be pissed at me for posting this if he reads it after cheerleading practice but it needs to be said.
