Why does A&M have such a hard time with legacy recruits?

Kevin Murray hated the Aggies. Kyler almost signed with us the first go around, and then he got the hell outta College Station asap.
Chet Brooks coined the term the "Wrecking Crew", yet where was A&M with his son's recruitment? He flipped from Ohio St to us.
I don't know, just seems kinda fishy to me that all these aggies talk about the "Aggy family" and the family culture, but it seems like the players who actually played for them don't feel the same way.

Stupid thread. Kevin Murray was a drama queen when he played there and he was a drama queen when his son played there.
Most legacies want their kids to return. Murray just wanted to go wherever he could have the most control and best payout

Ex players have buyers remorse once they get away and look back at the weirdness that is A$M culture. Don’t want the kiddos to make the same mistake.

Chet Brooks and his son reached out to A&M, but it was too late, after we had landed Denver Harris. I really do hate to see him at uta. He's a great player and his dad was fantastic.

I imagine there are plenty more examples. Those were just the ones that popped into my head first.
I imagine a lot of it has to do with the racism that was rampant in College Station back when those guys played

So A&M shoots 4/6 on legacies? That doesn't sound very good to me...
Even missing out on one pair of legacies made people extremely butthurt here. But it seems like over there y'all just accept it as the norm.

Very ironic coming from a texas fan. You guys lost the Brockermeyer brothers. Their dad played for texas and their brother is literally on the team right now.

Yes, that was one of my thoughts when making this thread. We lost those guys and people went nuts. Yet it seems like it happens pretty regularly to A&M and they don't care. Ironic given their family culture or something like that.
