Why do so many fans think Ed Orgeron is a "defensive genius"?

He's never coordinated a defense for two seconds.
There's not even any proof he is a good defensive line coach. He's just had really good players at some stops.
What did he accomplish at Tennessee? Nothing. What did he accomplish at Southern Cal the second time, or at the Saints? Nothing. What did he accomplish at Ole Miss? He called his players "you mother frickers!" and they all thought it was funny. That's what he accomplished at Ole Miss.
He's got a burly gruff personality that makes little pipsqueak sportswriters giggle. That's it. That's all he's got.

Not really anyone thinks that. He does know good DL technique though. His main thing tbh is recruiting. As long as he has good coordinators, he will do well to very well. He is sort of like Gerry Dinardo.
