Why do people consistently say Cam's 2010 season was the most dominant?

Especially compared to Tim Tebow's 2007 season (Tebow played in 13 games, Newton in 14)

Top 50 Defenses Faced:

Tebow

LSU: 284 (3rd)
Auburn: 298 YPG (8th)
Georgia: 325 YPG (19th)
Vanderbilt: 325 YPG (19th)
Michigan: 334 YPG (24th)
FSU: 350 YPG (36th)

Cam

Alabama: 286 YPG (5th)
LSU: 307 YPG (12th)
Clemson: 320 YPG (19th)
Georgia: 329 YPG (23rd)
Oregon: 346 YPG (36th)
South Carolina: 364 YPG (46th)

Yearly Stats:

TT: 234-350 (66.9%), 253 YPG, 32 TDs, 6 INTs

CN: 185-280 (66.1%), 204 YPG, 30 TDs, 7 INTs

TT: 210 Rushes, 69 YPG, 23 TDs
CN: 264 Rushes, 105 YPG, 20 TDs

Tebow had more yards and TDs and less interceptions than Cam even though he played in fewer games against a more difficult schedule.

Because we have eyes and watched them both play.

Then you would have seen Tebow do more impressive things against more impressive defenses

Cam made America great again in 2010.

The original MAGA. Bow and make to him an offering to seek repentance for your blasphemy here today.

I will wait by the door...

Like it or not, Manziel's 2012 season is the best we'll ever see from a sheer numbers standpoint. He broke Newton's total offense record (5,116) in two fewer games while accounting for 394 yards every time he put the helmet on.

Edit: The Newton season shouldn't have happened. Multiple NCAA gaffes and utter incompetence bolsters the biggest asterisk in college football history. If only his presence and that championship could be wiped from the historical database. In a diligent and just society, you can most certainly bet that it would be.

Because Cam took good defenses and made them look terrible.

He will forever define greatness in college football.

His long and successful NFL career will only support the fact that he is the best SEC QB in history. (My apologies to Pat Sullivan)

Why don't you go ask Patrick Peterson and Nick Saban about Cam?

Tebow had a much better team. I think you're forgetting that part.

I think it's because it seemed as if it Cam would not let his team lose. It didn't seem as if 2010 Auburn was that great of a team outside of Cam but they went undefeated because of him. Not trying to disrespect the rest of the Auburn team, but I think most people feel that you could have put Cam on many different teams that year and they would have won the National Championship. As far as the eye test goes, Cam was the most dominant college football player I have ever seen. No disrespect to Tim Tebow who was AMAZING, but Cam was better.

Who believes this? There have been many dominant single season years, hard to declare one better than another.

Shut the frick up. No standing rules were broken. Sorry you can't accept that almost 7 years later.

I think winning all the games counts for something.

Also, Florida was loaded with talent. AU had a senior laden offensive line, but no first round picks.

WR: Florida had NFL talent. AU had taxi squad Darvin Adams, castoff QB Burns and Emory Blake.

Cam took a 8-4 team and made them undefeated.

Tebow made a great team a little better.

Both will be honored as SEC legends at a future SECCG.

Because Cam Newton was better. Tim Tebow was surrounded by more talent and a better coach at Florida in 2007 (much more talent and a way better coach), and Cam Newton lead a mediocre Auburn team to an SEC and National Championship.

Also, Cam Newton won MVP in the NFL.
