Why didn't Mike Leach run the ball.

There were times last night that Ole Miss only rushed 2, literally 2 defenders and it was never more than 3. When Miss State ran the ball they had a fair amount of success. Who wouldn't against a 2-3 man front? Jeez, but Leach seemed determined to pass 95% of the time. Makes absolutely no sense. Not impressed with his offensive mindset.

Leach uses RBs for the short passing game, so they end up with a lot of all purpose yards. Both averaged over 5 yards pc last night, but it's typically difficult to run with the OL spaced out the way the air raid sets.

Two things Leach absolutely has no understanding of: running the football and defense.

he did run it. Understand that his "runs" start from the flats after a short pass that is actually a sort of forward lateral. His blocking schemes in those cases are run-blocking after brush blocking to protect the Qb.. just watch his receivers block instead of run routes.

Also, just try to keep up... It isnt his faut that his backs and receivers dropped the ball, literally.

2 dropped passes in the end zone and field goal that should have been made and we win by 7 I think my math is bad cause I'm hungover. We had chances to win that game. Just didn't execute.

Coach should have prepared our players for the legendary Ole Miss Vols faint plays that mess up the rhythm of the game.

Leach has always disliked putting feet on the ground. Way too slow and inefficient. When he was the offensive coordinator at Kentucky he used to rollerblade around campus.

And the Ole Miss defense (3-2-6) matches up well with this type of offense.

With Leach teams it's always ifs, buts, should have, and could haves...but in the end it's always pretty much the same every game.

That's why he gives the DC full control over it.
