I just saw this and it shocked me. Seriously not trying to be a dick. I read he wasnt real happy with playing slot. So assume he wants to play outside and get a shot at 1st rd money in Miami.

Just surprised he was a baller at UGA from day 1 he stepped on the field basically.

He thinks he's an outside CB and he's not. He came to camp out of shape and it hurt his play some. He was also being tampered with by Miami and they were selling him on coming home and being that outside CB. It is what it is.

What Portus said. He doesn’t have the quickness you need at outside CB.

Miami tampered and likely paid him off.

Had already won a couple of pre-season national championships and was ready to move on to a new challenge.

Yeah as others have said I think it was mostly due to him being from Miami. I think I saw there might have been some things going on at home where he needed to be around to help.

Also as others pointed out, I don't think he was ever going to be an outside CB for us. Apparently, Kimber(freshman CB) looked better on the outside than Stevenson. Probably didn't want to play STAR all 4 years. He just wasn't panning out for us.

He's in for a rough go of it then in Miami's opener.

It was kind of a head scratcher, but the word is he really wanted to be closer to home, as well as his desire to play CB was not met with UGA's desire to have him there. In any case, it's a loss for sure, but not a devastating one.

He could have been a monster at safety.
Covid (no spring workouts) made him a little heavy and he regressed his sophomore season. He doesnt have the hips to cover speedy slot receivers. He definitely doesnt have the hips to be on an island in press man.

He could still utilize all of his strengths at safety without being the liability in man coverage and being the target utilized by opposing OCs/QBs.

When UGA demoted Coley, the miami songbirds have been after all of our south florida players. As far as i know, no rules have been broken. All is fair in love and war and such. Stevenson will be given an opportunity at CB. We will see if he blows it before the season starts or not.

his desire to play CB was not met

Word is that he pitched a fit during bowl prep. That is why he played CB during the peach bowl.

He wasnt great.
He probably knew what was going to happen in spring and summer.

Kirby’s promises of being a 1st round outside CB starting his freshman year didn’t pan out

He wasn’t one of our top 3 cb’s, so we found a way to get him on the field. He would have played cb for us this year, so this clearly wasn’t about that. Miami tampered and they paid them off.
