Now hear this, you Gamecocks. This is all fun and games. But since y'all are so interested in A&M lore, you need to know how far you can go.
If you get the bad idea of taunting us by driving a jalopy around the field at Williams-Brice at halftime, then you will have crossed our red line. You're gonna have a riot on your hands.
We then might (or might not) commandeer a train, mount some artillery on it, and prepare to bombard Columbia. We prefer to keep the question ambiguous to maximize its value as a deterrent.

"Texas A&M athletic director Scott Woodward turned down an offer from Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte to schedule a home-and-home football series between the Aggies and Longhorns. The development was first reported Wednesday afternoon by the Houston Chronicle."

You don’t really want to go there do you? Your coach is afraid and our fans don’t give a hoot to play you as we have much bigger games to deal with
We don’t care
But you can stay here

Alex, I'll take "Aggy traditions that never happened" for $500 please.

Oh we understand the agony that Minnesota and Iowa must face every day in the mirror. Be the first at something, and then have other upstarts come and try and steal your idea, just like we were the Texas Aggies, and then the Longhorns came and stole our texas moniker.

You’ve gone and done it now. 10 pages.

This is the most positive reception Longhorns have ever had in the rant trying to troll aggy .
Who knew the way to go about it was to make Cock-socks and go full Randolph.

A relevant observation. I've read a few accounts of the Dixie Classic game from the time, and there are significant differences about what happened in the game, itself, beyond the Gill angle. I don't know if they were drinking in the press box, not paying close attention, or what. They certainly weren't interested in game statistics, like nowadays.
It feels like the writers back then in Texas were not taking these games near as seriously as we do now. Just something to keep in mind when you try to figure out what was going on in and around the game up through the early 1920s. It was a few years later when attention really started getting focused on college football and documentation is a lot better.

I love this smack talk between the Cocks and Cock Lovers. This is hilarious.
Keep the shite-talking going until game day.

Talking about A&M history, of course the sips can't help themselves but show up and start talking about how we left them. Diluting the cock count of this thread and throwing a pity party for themselves.
Other than that, solid thread so far.

Well, there were reporters from several papers in Texas and Kentucky. Their game accounts differ on details like when turnovers happened, where some plays took place on the field, sequence of events, who got injured when, etc. They agree on the scoring, but not the sort of accurate game script reporting we take for granted now.
Sometime either at halftime or in the 3rd qtr, Gill came down from the press box and suited up. He changed into a uniform either under the stands or on the sideline screened by other players. There was no locker room.
I read it in a book about early A&M Football by an author who was digging into this whole 12th Man subject, Dana X. Bible and his undefeated and unscored on 1919 team, early Kyle Field, etc. It's at my Mom's house down in Texas. Will dig it out when go back for Christmas.

Makes you wonder how many of the reporters were actually at the game, especially the visiting side. Ironically Gill’s opportunity to be the 12th man was created by a reporters invite to join in that press box & help with stats etc.. Doubt Bible even would’ve known Gill was available otherwise.
Any pics out there if the game?
What most don’t realize is the significance of the match up that day & who they beat. Taking into account the dominance of CFB in the northeast, the A&M was undefeated Centre College, ranked #1 and the first team from the south to beat Harvard who was on a four year win streak.
I was a lil fuzzy on some of that so I pulled it up online.. I had totally forgot Gill came back next year as the starting RB.
